Speak Out to Protect Bristol Bay!

Big news! The EPA recently released its proposal to protect Bristol Bay fishing jobs and subsistence livelihoods from the threats posed by the Pebble Mine. In doing so, it also launched a 60-day public comment period giving Alaskans the opportunity to weigh in on the proposal.

There are two important ways you can continue to help protect Bristol Bay:

  1. Attend the Anchorage hearing on Tuesday, August 12th to show strong support for Bristol Bay protections. Click here for more information and to RSVP. Hearings in Bristol Bay will be held Aug. 13-15th. For a list of all scheduled hearings, click here.

  2. Send a comment to the EPA and tell them you support their proposal and urge the agency to rapidly finalize Bristol Bay protections.

After years of study and public input, the EPA released its proposal to protect fish, local communities, and fishing businesses from the Pebble Mine. This determination moves us closer than ever to protecting North America’s greatest salmon run – but we need your help to ensure this proposal becomes reality.

The science, Alaskans, and fishermen across the country all agree: Pebble mine is a risk we cannot afford to take. We need your help to keep the momentum to protect Bristol Bay strong: Please take actionattend the hearing in Anchorage on August 12, and share both with your friends. Information and talking points can be found here.

With your help, we can finalize this process and ensure Bristol Bay remains the thriving, world-class fishery it is today!
