This weekend AMCC is partnering with one of our business members, Sitka Salmon Shares, to host a cooking demonstration at the Sitka Seafood Festival. From 1-1:20pm on Saturday, August 2nd, Chef Ali Banks will prepare a fresh, locally-caught coho salmon dish and have a conversation with local fisherman, Marsh Skeele of the F/V Loon. Stay tuned for a new recipe featuring seared coho with a pesto/salsa verde sauce and don’t miss this short and sweet demonstration!
Following Saturday’s cooking demonstration, AMCC Working Waterfronts Program Director, Rachel Donkersloot, will present on AMCC’s exciting work regarding local fisheries, our work with young fishermen, and our Working Waterfronts Program. Rachel’s presentation will be at 2:15pm.
AMCC will also be having a booth at this year’s Salmonstock. Stop by and take the pledge to eat local Alaskan seafood!
