Alaska Offers Several Ways to Vote Absentee

FISHING THIS SUMMER? MAKE A PLAN

Fishing season can make voting a little more complicated. If you’ll be away from home, offshore, or working somewhere with limited mail access, plan ahead so you know how you’ll get your ballot and how you’ll return it.

Option 1: Vote Absentee By Mail

Good option if you know where you’ll be tied up or can receive mail.

  • Request a ballot before you leave

  • Have it mailed to your home, cannery, family member, or wherever you’ll be

  • Return ballot by mail

Option 2: Vote Absentee By Online Delivery

  • Request and receive your ballot online

  • Print your ballot

  • Return your ballot by mail or by fax
Please note: ballots cannot be returned by email.

Option 3: Vote Absentee By Fax

  • You can also return absentee ballots by fax if you’re in a remote area or offshore with limited mail access.
