Program Coordinator
Location: Alaska-based; remote office
Salary: $55,000+ DOE, plus benefits

Position Overview
AMCC is seeking a full-time Program Coordinator to support the implementation of our fisheries policy, community engagement, and programmatic work across Alaska. This role is focused on coordination, execution, and communication, helping translate AMCC’s priorities into on-the-ground action. The Program Coordinator works closely with the Executive Director, staff, contractors, and partners to track policy developments, support advocacy efforts, and strengthen connections with fishing communities.
Key Responsibilities

Support AMCC’s fisheries policy and program work by monitoring activity at the North Pacific Fishery Management Council, Board of Fisheries, and related processes; summarizing materials and assisting with drafting public comments, testimony, and briefing materials

Coordinate program implementation, including tracking timelines and deliverables, supporting logistics for meetings, and maintaining internal systems to track projects and activities

Support outreach and engagement with fishermen, coastal communities, and partners, including coordinating public participation in meetings, testimony, and events, and maintaining contact lists and communications

Support planning and execution of events, workshops, and trainings

Contribute to communications by assisting with newsletters, blog posts, and other materials, helping translate fisheries issues into clear, accessible language

Lead development and production of the Alaska Young Fishermen’s Almanac, including coordinating contributors, managing timelines, and supporting content creation

Assist with grant reporting, program documentation, and general administrative support across program areas
Qualifications and Requirements

Experience in fisheries, marine science, environmental policy, or a related field; bachelor’s degree preferred

Strong interest in Alaska fisheries and fishing communities

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Comfortable working in a fully remote work environment

Willingness to travel within Alaska as needed
