Alaskans & Fishermen Shower Thanks Upon Salazar in Anchorage- Friday September 3, 2010

 

Bristol Bay supporters and fishermen greeted Secretary Salazar before he entered a press conference in Anchorage to say thank you for protecting our wild fisheries stronghold. AMCC helped to organize the thank you rally which drew around 20 people dressed in Bristol Bay t-shirts holding colorful signs, stuffed salmon, and standing around a giant sockeye salmon. The Secretary stopped on his way into the press conference to shake hands with folks and talked once again with us about how Bristol Bay was too special to risk. Salazar said he appreciated the positive show of support from Alaskans on the issue. AMCC and partners are asking Secretary Salazar and the administration to support permanent protection of the region from offshore drilling.
