The Alaska Board of Fisheries will meet in Anchorage from March 16-21, 2010.
The Board of Fisheries’ is responsible for setting seasons, bag limits, methods and means for the state’s subsistence, commercial, sport, guided sport, and personal use fisheries, and for setting policy and direction for the management of the state’s fishery resources. The board is charged with making allocative decisions, and the department is responsible for management based on those decisions.
Topics to be discussed at the next meeting include: statewide finfish, supplemental issues, subsistence finding standard, and the Chitina dipnet fishery.
